Liverpool vs Manchester United Predictions:

Manchester United's own manager credited their defense for conceding twice against Norwich on Saturday

The Red Devils have won just twice in their last six league matches, conceding twice in both victories

The Reds have scored three goals in three of their last four games

Jota has scored in each of his last three Premier League games and his last two games with United

Long Wait For The Reds:

The balance of power between the two parties has certainly shifted over the past decade. However, despite Manchester United's recent struggles, Liverpool last completed a league double over the Red Devils in 2013-14.

They have a great chance to end that wait this week as the Reds try to go top of the Premier League table. While United would love nothing more than to prevent that, they don't seem capable of fielding any kind of opposition.

 United Recent From:

United went away to Norwich at the weekend, but overall it was a tough weekend for them. They won 3-2 against the bottom side, but after the game the focus was on their defensive problems. Manager Ralf said they were the only team in the division to concede goals as low as they did on Saturday.

The Red Devils have won just twice in their last six league matches. They conceded twice in both of those wins while dropping points to Watford, losing at Everton on matchday four and City beating them 4-1 during that run.

The Red Devils concede an average of 1.53 goals per away game, which could be even worse. Their defensive standards are slipping rather than improving. Expect it to be on full display against a sharp Liverpool line.

Reds to Win

Liverpool have scored three times in three of their last four games, drawing 2-2 with Man City in the second. They saw off the Citizens at the weekend, going 3-0 against the league leaders. They score 2.6 goals per home game so I expect them to blow United away.

The hosts can call on the in-form Jota here, with Luis Diaz  also featuring as a real case in point. Jota has scored in each of his last three Premier League games, scoring the Reds' first goal in each of those games. Help him score in a third straight United meeting.

Given how miserable United looked at the weekend, I expect them to fall apart against the Premier League's best team in 2022. I'm backing Liverpool to score at least three goals, with a comfortable 4-1 win, according to my correct score estimate.

Liverpool predicted line-up:

Manchester United predicted line-up:

Liverpool vs Man United Predictions:

2. Liverpool :1x

Liverpool vs Man Utd match statistics

Liverpool have won their last three games against Man Utd by a combined score of 13-2. In fact, the Red Devils have won just one of their last nine in this historic fixture.

Mohamed Salah was Liverpool's top scorer in the Premier League last season with 23 goals, but was supported by Mane on 16 and Jota on 15, while Luis Diaz scored four times in just 13 games after his mid-season arrival.

In contrast, Cristiano Ronaldo was the only Man Utd player to score more than 10 goals, eventually reaching 18. The Portuguese icon is missing from this tour and may have played his last game for the club.

Liverpool have lost just 15 of their 152 Premier League games over the last four seasons and finished at least third. That's just three more than Man Utd lost alone last season, while they finished sixth twice in the same period.
